We live in a new development around a year old and the ants in the fields all seem to love moving into the new housing turf that is laid down for some reason. At least they love the surrounding turf. I only had two ant piles in the 12 months that we have lived in this house and I think it is the molasses and organics as a whole that is the reason. I apply forty pounds of molasses twice a year on my small yard (front and rear) and don't have many ants to speak of. I do have tons and tons of spiders which I think might have something to do with the ants, too - not certain tho. I say use the stuff!
Hugs
