At the Christmas season, I went Waco to meet our relative. At the dinner table, my father was talking about "this man in Dallas area said to use nemotoes for this and that" .Then my aunt exclamed,"HOWARD GARRETT!!" She said he is kind of crazy because he make this strange compost tea. My grandma with a puzzled face and said,"Do you drink it?" I laughed with food in my mouth. I started to explaned what compost tea is,and hg is not guy who invented this tea( in fact, read about compost tea in books that were written in 70's and 80's). Then I realized that do not know about it after all,since I never made one for myself. Again please, tell ME what it is in simple terms so I can tell them what it is?! :roll:

As simple as I can say it, compost tea is the leachate of organic material.
In this case, the organic material is compost. You can also make tea from worm castings, garlic, lava sand, etc.

Dr Elaine Ingham has defined compost tea and other products made from compost. Compost tea, assuming it is aerated in a manner even somewhat like she endorses, is not a leachate. I know I'm picking at nits here but she does use the term leachate but not in the compost tea description.
