I cannot find a source for the sand recommended for use around a new slab for termite prevention.

Longview and Tyler rental stores carry "0" which is about the size of 3 bb's, and they tell be that "00" would be about the size of six bb's or almost as big as pea gravel. However, my pea gravel is round and not sharp.

I am told that sandblasters sand is sold only in bags and not in bulk since it is kiln dried, and that in this area it is only sold by rental stores which have sandblasting equipment. They have 100 lbs of "0" for $4.20.

Any advice appreciated.

I did find Bora-Care at a chemical supply in Tyler, but the termites were swarming outdoors yesterday, and I want to take all precautions.

I don't know if Howard is still recommending 00 sand for termite protection. You might want to call into the show on Sat or Sun and ask him.
The last person I know of that got the 00 sand had to buy a truckload.
