Have you done any research on the tree?
http://www.parkseed.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=10101&catalogId=10101&langId=-1&mainPage=prod2working&ItemId=46438&scChannel=Popular%20Search%20Main
It shows to be able to be planted in our zones but it gets 12 feet wide....how is that going to work in your 2 ft wide planting space?
Also, I would recommend checking out Howard's book "Texas Trees" that would recommend a good privacy tree that would do really well in our climate. |

Here's the evergreen trees that Howard recommends:
Anacua
Cedar
Arizon Cypress
Holly
Magnolia
Wild Olive
Texas Palm
Pine
Tx Mountain Laurel
Wax Myrtle |
