Help!! Oncor came today and trimmed our tree back 10' which leaves one side of it bare. The tree is huge (about 12' around). It's about 30 years old or more. One of the limbs they cut was infested with wood ants. They also said one of the larger trunk-like limbs that they partially cut had a big hole in it. My questions are: Do I leave the bare-cuts open or paint with something? How do we fill in the holes so they won't rot? What do I do about the ants? We have used the Sick Tree Treatment 2 or 3 times because we knew some of the limbs were in distress that had been hitting the electrical line. We plan to do the Sick Tree Treatment again now that they have butchered it. I would think that this is a bad time of the year to trim trees. We've lived here 3 years. When we came the tree had not had TLC so we have used care in removing dirt around the flare, etc. Since it shades our entire backyard we don't want to lose it. Thanks for you expertise...and
