I recently purchased a yaupon holly and was thinking of planting it near my front door. There is a gutter downspout 2'-3' away from the spot that I would like to plant it. Will the rain runoff from the downspout be too much water for the holly?
I have read in Howard's book (Plants of the Metroplex) that yaupon hollies can stand fairly wet soil, but I am unsure if the downspout will provide too much water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it drains well it shouldn't matter what you plant there. I looked up Yaupon Holly and it should work well there, wet or dry.

Thanks for the response. The area I would like to plant the holly seems to drain fairly well, so I will go ahead with my plans. Again, thanks for your input.
