How long will grass clippings stay a "green?" I have a couple bags of grass clippings that are only a couple of weeks old and assume they would still be a green. However, I just thought I would make sure and for future reference as well. I am planning on mixing with some old spoiled hay.
Thanks! |

It depends. Sometimes they can stay green for months inside a closed bag.
However, I would recommend getting all your collected bags of grass out into the air somewhere, and mixing it with other organic matter, especially browns, as soon as possible, to absorb and harvest the precious nitrogen from the grass, before it evaporates out into the atmosphere. |
