Would this be easier if I just go buy more from the garden center and plant rather than try from cuttings?

Just be patient. If you already have one or two, just be patient. When it is healthy enough it will send up shoots of new ones. Then when they are a few inches tall, dig up the shoot cutting the root with a shovel half way between the new shoot and the original plant and you have a new plant. This will continue until you do not want any more and you are giving them away. Try this before spending money on purchasing. If you can't wait, I'll give you a couple.
