It's March 13th and I probably won't get a chance to plant my garden until Friday the 18th. I want to plant.
1. Zucchini Squash
2. Yellow Squash
3. Tomato Seed-I figured that I had better get plants for this one.
4. Watermelon
5. Cantaloupe
6. Okra |

It's not too late (except for the tomato seed as you stated). You will want to wait until after the last killing freeze to plant all of those on your list. Okra loves hot, hot weather so you could wait on it. In Dallas, the last freeze is usually around Mid to late march.
Some people plant after the following:
When you see mesquite trees budding.
When you see the first scissor-tail |

| Thanks, kbrew, I appreciate it alot. We've fallen behind a bit because my grandson was in the hospital with pneumonia for two weeks so we didn't think of the garden of much of a priority but he's OK now so we're back at it. |

I might wait a bit to set the seeds out, the low vining crops are picky about soil temp. Better choice might be starting them inside to get a head start and to make sure you picked a good vigorous seed. I'm planning on transplanting melons and squash about April1. |

| Go ahead and plant your tomato seeds also. You may not get any late Spring or early Summer tomatoes, but you can get a Fall crop from them. I've planted tomato seeds as late a June to get Fall tomatoes. |
