We have a creek at the back of our property that pools up, is green and murky, and has a nasty film on top. What can we do to clear up the water there? We have some nice large white rocks that overhang the creek and want to do some nice landscaping back there, but with the water the way it is, it isn't a pretty sight.

It's kind of a murky job, but I use a rake to skim the top of our creek water when it gets that way. I collect the mossy stuff and pile it around plants for mulch.
