|
|
I have this "weed" in several patches in my bermuda. I had it last year as well. I hope you can tell from the picture. I don't remember noticing it this early last year. My lawn has been organic for one year now. Since March 1, we are about 6 inches below normal in rainfall here in Tulsa.
Can someone identify this? Thanks.

That looks like crab grass to me.

| If it died out and hasn't returned (yet), then yes, crabgrass. If, when, it returns, try sprinkling baking soda on it or better yet, put a teaspoon of baking soda in 16 ounces of water and spray ONLY THE FOLIAGE. In 3 days it should be black and dieing. |

It returned probably several weeks ago -- the same places as last year. Plus some new places.
What about potassium bicarbonate instead of bakin soda as I already have some of that mixed up?
Thank you. |

| My Homeowners Association is trying to force me to use a weed treatment to kill the few weeds i have. I think some patches of crab grass are my problem. So baking soda with water really works? Any other ideals. I am tired of pulling by hand !!! * |

There is a new organic cinnamon based product that is designed to kill crabgrass. Call AG Organics and ask about it. 972-347-3330. I don't know what retailers carry it but I know they do.
