Maybe I need a strawberry expert, but see my question in the subject line, please.
Blackberry plants grow high, strawberries grow low. Do strawberries really need a lot of sunshine?

I've got strawberries and they grow and ripen under the leaves in the shade and out in the open in full sun. However, that doesn't mean that growing these two plants together is a good idea, I don't know.
Blackberries get real thick and spread like crazy. If they have thorns you have another problem.
I would not do it. If you are tight for space, try a strawberry tower which takes advantage of verticle space.

Thanks, Tony. I still have so much space between the plants, I just wondered. I hope they stay contained in my raised bed, because the bed is in our lawn! (I wanted it close to the house to discourage critters and birds.) I just planted these blackberries last early March, and there are berries already! Didn't think they would produce fruit until next year.
