Something as simple as a water feature can be a pleasant addition to a green home.

Recently, I added a small fountain and pond to my new home. Then I added plants, coy, goldfish, snails, and then tadpoles from bullfrogs.

What has happened has been extraordinary! The fish have tripled in size and the tadpoles have matured into frogs. Now I can listen to the frogs and toads gathering at the watering hole at night and find pleasure in knowing they are out there eating a lot of mosquitoes.

I see lots of red and blue dragonflies dipping in the water. Along with the bird feeders around the yard, more birds seem to be frequenting the pond also. We seem to be actually mosquitoe free due to our feathered friends spending a lot of time around the pond and the house! Imagine that.

Listening to the water drown out the noise of traffic, watching the fish and enjoying the beauty of the pond has added a level of tranquility to the overall design and experience of the home.
