saving seeds

what's the method for saving seeds, to sow later, from jalepeno peppers

When I save seeds, I put them in a paper towel, until they are dried out.
Then I put them in a plastic medicine bottle, along with a note as to what they are. Next it goes into the refrigerator until I am ready to plant them. I remove them one day prior to planting, to warm them to room temperature. It has worked everytime so far.

Do only some types of seeds need to be in the frige/ will it hurt other seeds?
I've never done that before. :?

They don't need to be in the refrigerator. I just put them there. That way I see them and don't forget when I stashed them. I see them everytime I open the refrig. My wife likes the idea too. That way I don't have to ask her where I put them when it is time to start the plants from seed.

I'll just have to tell my sweetie to not go venturing in the frige to much. :wink: Right now I have one kitchen cabinet for "seeds only". It's in a nice cool spot of the kitchen. I generally use film cases for my seeds. I'm venturing to a photo lab, near by, this week to see if they'll give me a bunch of them. I assume they just throw them all away.

My mom asked me I wanted for my birthday this week. My quick reply was The Dirt magazine. I can't wait to get my first copy!
