If you have purple martin houses or bluebird houses do not forget to prepare them for the coming winter.

Purple martin houses should be cleaned and closed up to prevent house sparrows from moving in.

Bluebird houses can be cleaned out but you may wish to leave them open. They may be used as a winter roost on cold winter nights (assuming we still have cold winter nights).
