I came across a link about making your own laundry soap. The recipe for both the liquid and the powder is shown here. Some of the items are not organic but it seems like we should be able to come up with a pretty good recipe for making organic laundry soap. Any thoughts?

Here is what a soap maker friend of mine does.

Laundry Soap

It's very simple....

1) grind up your scraps (these are scraps of homemade soap)

2) put soap scraps in a 5 gallon bucket (about 4" of scraps in the bucket -
don't use too much!)

3) add equal parts washing soda and borax (about 1 cup each for a 5 gallon
bucket)

4) fill bucket with water

In about 2 days or so, it will turn to complete mush - that's when it's good -
becomes the consistency of snot (sorry to describe it this way, but that's the
way it was described to me, and quite frankly - it's accurate!).

Taken from my soap_makers group on Yahoo.
