| What is the best variety of Blueberries for the Fort worth area? Any suggestions for planting and protecting from birds would also be helpful. I understand it will take 2-3 years before plants will produce fruit. Is this correct? |

| THis is my opinion, and probably not very popular among other posters, but there is not a good blueberry variety for this area because our soil is too alkaline and has too much clay, plus our climate is too hot and we have a relatively short cold season. In almost thirty years of gardening in the DFW area, I have never known anyone who successfully grew productive blueberries. |
