old hay

This is my first time to post, so please be patient with me. My Question is, I have access to some coastal bermuda hay that is at lest 3 years old. Will this hay be good to us in my garden as a mulch in the middles (walkways) and around the plants? Is there a great chance that I would be planting this in my garden by using it? Thanks for the help before hand.

I have use coastal bermuda as mulch without any problem. This type of bermuda tends to grow tall and not spread runners like sod bermuda does in my experience, and is cut for baling at a fairly tall stage, so I think the likelihood of growing bermuda sprouts is not likely (possible, but not likely). My favorite hay for mulching and pathways, though, is alfalfa.
