I've just read the article in The Dirt about not using teflon coated cookware. Sorry to sound so dumb, but is Hard Anodized cookware the same as Teflon?

No, anodizing is not the same as teflon. Anodizing gives aluminum a scratch resistant, weather resistant coating and does not have the same outgassing properties as teflon when heated.

Thank you! Whew! I just paid a premium price for Calphalon cookware (hard anodized) and was afraid I was going to have to chuck it and buy stainless steel! That's a relief. Thanks for your reply.
