i have over 100 large trees down at my east texas farm after rita. we are using farm equipment to pile up the trees in a pasture to be ground up later. any ideas on how to deal with the huge stumps that were uprooted when the trees blew over. i'm considering pulling them back into their original place and cutting them as close to the ground as possible to decay in place. or having them hauled off the property. now they are uprooted and laying on their side. any one have experience contracting tub grinder trucks like the big tree services use? we are trying not to make things worse by bringing heavy logging equipment and other heavy machinery onto the property unless we absoulutly have to. we do have trees on buildings and have a bulldozer to lift them off with cables and block and tackles. i am trying to keep the dozer off the root zone of the trees still standing.
any ideas would help.
thanks.
