I realize that hybrids are a problem among the Oaks and most of the places that I go to to look at trees are not even aware that this is a problem. To many it seems that if the tag on the tree says Shumard Red Oak then it must be one. Where can I go to get a "true purebred Shumard Red Oak". And how can I be sure that that's what I'm getting? Only by the shape of the leaf?

| Basically all you can do is go tto a well established tree farm or garden center (like Shades of Green, Green mama's etc) and buy a clearly marked one from them. |
