Has anyone read about Whitcomb's air root pruning system? If not you can go to his website - www.lacebarkinc.com and tell us what you think. It's pretty interesting on how his way prevent root girdling in the specialized containers vs regular ones that you see at nurseries. I always see root girdling in the containers whenever I buy plants.
After doing more internet searching, I came across specialized containers called 'Smart Pot' which is air root pruning method (www.treebag.com). I'm not really clear on what their methods are as far as growing from seeds.
Do you yall just plant seeds in regular containers? What size to begin with? I have acorns (Burenglish) and want to grow them in the containers till they get big enough to be transplanted at a treeless park (assuming it's still treeless park by then). |
