| I am looking for a small plow. something that is about 4-5 ft. wide, but bigger would be o.k . I don't care if it is a disc or harrow , I just need something to break up some ground. Thanks. |

Sid-
Are you sure you want to plow just to break up the ground? That is quite destructive to the existing soil profile that has taken years to build. An aerator would be a much better choice. If you can't find one you can areate your land with various soil conditioners applied with a sprayer.

There is a lot of difference between a plow, disc, and harrow. A plow is very distructive to the bacteria , worms, and other beneficials. You probably want a disc. A harrow smothes the land after using disc. See book "Plowman's Folly" If you are doing a seed bed - disc to fine texture, roll with roller, put out seed, and roll again and pray for rain.
