What is the difference between Horticulture cornmeal, corngluten, and cornmeal?

I have a friend on another forum who could answer better, but here's what I think I know.

Horticultural corn meal (feed grade) has not been stored to prevent fungal growth on it.

Corn meal (food grade) has been kept in special storage to prevent mold and fungal growth. Without getting deep into it, some corn fungi can kill you if you eat it. Otherwise both of these "ordinary" corn meals work the same in the garden. Both provide significant anti fungal qualities (despite what the Ag Extension Service says).

Corn Gluten Meal is corn meal that has been processed to remove some of the carbohydrate for other uses. The remaining material is higher protein content. CGM is used to fortify animal feed with protein. Researchers at Iowa State discovered that if you use enough CGM at the right time, you will see a decrease in the number of seeds rooting. Personally I'm not sure I've ever seen that effect.

Horticultural Cornmeal - the Outside of a corn kernel. It is useful as a fungicide in the soil & for making cornmeal juice to spray as a fungicide. It is fairly coarse (1/32" to 1/4 ").

Corn Gluten Meal - the Protein Fraction of the corn kernel. It has a nitrogen content of 9% to 10% (good fertilizer although somewhat expensive) & acts as a pre-emergent when applied at the right time (before small seeds germinate).

Store Bought Cornmeal - usually the starchy endosperm of corn kernel (outside edge removed). Too expensive; has some benefit if nothing else is available.

Whole cornmeal - exactly what the title says, the entire kernel. It can be used as horticultural cornmeal although the benefit per pound may not be as great. It has been reported to act like Corn Gluten Meal at preventing small seed germination.
