Need something (3-4 shrubs) for about 3' wide bed along north facing garage wall. Prefer evergreen, natural/native looking. What about cedars - or do they need more sun??

If you don't mind something deciduous, I recommend Turk's Cap or Chili Pequin, though I'm not sure how high you want them.

Unless you are referring to juniper shrubs, cedar trees get 20' wide and 30' tall...probably not a good choice for you, especially in the shade.

How tall would the plants be you are looking for?
Would you prefer something that flowers or is pleasant foliage more important?

There's mahonia, beautyberry, hydrangea, aucuba, red buckeye, and many others. Try to narrow down what you want and you can select from a better short list!

Good luck and have fun!
