buffalo grass no mowing question

Last season, our first with our buffalo grass lawn (in Cedar Hill) we never mowed at all, and were very satisfied. The question is: will the grass grow better this year if we mow off the dead brown grass before the new grass starts growing?

Yes, I would mow one time but don't scalp it down too low. That will allow some weed seed a chance to germinate and envade.
