I'm hoping someone can suggest some ideas for a shrub we'd like to use as a screen for a bedroom window...

We had a summer bouquet viburnum in front of a bedroom window we were hoping to let get big so as to provide a little privacy. The viburnum is sadly no longer with us. The area gets plenty of morning sun in the winter, but is under the canopy of a pecan in the summer and only gets filtered light.

Thanks! :D

Hadn't considered wax myrtle... I like them a lot. Will they do okay in the shade?

They like dappled shade, part shade and full sun. Pecan shade would be ideal.

Probably my favorite ornamental because it has so many uses. Small tree (if you prune), shrub, hedge... tolerates all types of soil. Smells good, the birds like it and it's beautiful.

I just came back from a ranch near Centerville and it was growing wild along the banks of a small lake. Totally neglected but growing like a well tended landscape.
