What can I do about it? One side is brown with part of it covered in sooty mold. Is it doomed? I got it from the store over xmas and planted it over the winter. It was healthy to begin with.

I think my dog pees on it too often. It has happened to two dwarf burford hollies that he frequently pees on and they're dead now.

It doesn't look healthy but can it be saved?

I've solved almost all problems with any kind of mold on trees and shrubs with either Corn Meal tea, or in more exteme cases folar feeding with some added potasium bicarbonate (or if you cannot find it, sodium bicarbonate- baking soda. Just make sure you don't add vinegar to this batch of feed)

Give that a shot.
