I just had a thought. Instead of putting swimming pool DE or chlorine in the swimming pool, what else can one put in it? How about vinegar?

Swimming pool DE is not put into the pool; it is used in the filter to screen out crud. Vinegar won't do much except change PH if you put in enough. Howard is using Redmond Sea Salt in his pool last I heard.
Keep in mind that the DE for filters is not the stuff you want to use in your yard or on your plants. |

I realize this is an old post, but I am a new subscriber and thought I could be of help.
My mother in law has a pool and got a salt chlorinator system put in.
A google search on it turns up lots of info.
Ton of health reasons, as salt being on our skin is healthier than chlorine.
Hope this helps,
