Natchez crape myrtles died back this winter

I am concerned because the 2 yr old White Crape Mrytles in my front yard are all showing signs of major die back. What little new leaves I am seeing are just now coming out. These are on the south exposure and were healthy and vigorous going into the fall. Other plants around them are showing no signs of distress. Are Natchez more tender? Are there two types of Natchez?

Yes they are. Cut back the dead wood and apply the entire Sick Tree Treatment making sure the flare is above grade. What has been the fertilizer program the past two years?

When I planted them I used existing soil in area, and only added a small amount of lava sand/greensand. I top dressed them with compost. Since that time they have been mulched with cedar and leaves, and fertilized with a Bradfords alfalfa based fertilizer in spring and summer. Once a year I broadcast dry molases and corn gluten meal. they are planted in the front of a 5-6 ft deep bed along the front of the house, at the back of the area are a few mature dwarf burford holly. The bed doesn't get excessive water as the house is on a gentle grade ane the front is the high side. There is a small redbud about 8 feet from one and it is fine and healthy.

You're doing everything right. Sounds like the Natchez crape myrtles may not be hardy enough this far north. Of course I am assuming you are in north Texas and that may not be the case.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I am in Fort Worth.
Any suggestion on a hardy white for this area?
