I have powdery mildew on a couple of crape myrtles in East Texas.

I have seen the recipe for corn meal juice.

My question is this: do you apply it at full strength or use one of those dilution spray bottles you connect to a garden hose?

The reason I ask is the trees are nearly 20 feet tall and I really can't hit the top portions with a pump sprayer.

Suggestions? any idea on the dilution rate if I use a hose sprayer?

You need to use it full strength. If you adjust your nozzle to coarse, you should be able to get fairly high. You could also use a ladder. If all this is not possible, use the hose end sprayer at the max setting for the top of tree & the regular sprayer for rest of tree. You might also consider using garlic spray which I believe can be diluted (Garlic GP brand is one).

I haven't yet gotten around to getting one myself, but many on here have indicated that a trombone sprayer is really handy for these sort of applications. Here are some old links that I bookmarked at the time:

Thanks GooOh! I should have mentioned the Trombone Sprayer myself. The large Trombone Sprayer will reach that high & is great for most all of your spraying chores. It should last a lifetime with a little maintenance. Get the one that has what looks like two pistol grips mounted on the trombone. There is also a smaller version that you hold the slides in your palm directly. It will only spray about 10' high (still great for smaller jobs). A lot of local nurseries carry these sprayers.
