My daughter wants to get rid of a large nandina bush. Any suggestions, short of digging it up which is almost impossible. Will strong vinegar do it?

Just cut it off at the ground. That should do it. If it tries to come back, cut them again.

Thanks for the advice, especially the part about Neil Sperry. ha! I will pass it on to my daughter. She cut the nandina back severely and it came back with a vengence but perhaps she didn't cut it close enough. It is really a large bush. I would love to have it but she doesn't want it.

My husband and I have transplanted fully grown nandinas with no ill effects. Even if you don't get all the roots, you could probably still get a successful transplant.
