I am having a weird problem with my PawPaw Tree. I planted two barerooted PawPaw Trees at the end of March. One tree has leafed out and looks healthy, but the other one is acting strangely. The leaf buds have swelled and started openning up, but stopped 1/4 open. I can see baby leaves, but they are not getting larger nor are they turning brown and dieing. They have stayed unchanged for about a month. My question is: why has it stopped leafing out and can I get it to finish the process?

That is odd.... sounds like transplant shock kicked in on it, but that it's doing its best to hold its own.

I'd try evening foliar feeding twice a week (see top of forum for details) when sun's gone close to down. Afer two weeks, see what happens.
