I don't know about mice, but it does great for fire ants in the house. I mix it with the leftover chicken bits after I've made broth. I put about 1 tsp. boric acid on a 1/4 cup of chicken stuff on a piece of cardboard near the ants. The ants love the chicken and will devour the mound of chicken. It will draw hundreds of ants as they all come to take away the chicken. I've used it twice now (once on my screen porch and once in the kitchen), and it took a week and one application in the kitchen and 3 weeks and three applications on the porch (where they were really bad), but it completely eliminated the ant pile and thus ant problem.
A word of caution - do not use if you have small children or indoor pets as it can harm (or kill) them too. I imagine since it is so toxic that it would kill mice, but where will the mouse die and will it then be toxic to other animals if it gets outside or if it dies in your wall will it start to smell or attract fire ants (which are meat eaters)? |
