|
|
I had some garlic/pepper tea made up in one of my sprayers and have been using it for a while with good results. Well, I decided to a few tablespoons of the horticultural molasses as recommended for adhesiveness.
I have been gone for a week and was going to spray some on my fruits.
When I went to spray the stuff this time, it smelled so rancid that I almost threwup.
What is the deal? Is it still good? Did the molasses affect it in some bad way?
Weird. |

| The garlic & pepper juice are organic products. When adding molasses to the mix you fire up the microbes (just like in the soil). The molasses caused the mix to decompose quickly (trapped in the container) which gave you the gross smell. The garlic/pepper solution will last for weeks if you keep it refrigerated. Don't add molasses or other stimulates until ready to use. If you still have the stinky stuff, dump it in your compost & flush out the sprayer (usually not a good idea to keep stuff in sprayers, they should be rinsed out after each use). |
