I ordered a package from Marshall Grain last week and received the package yesterday. Although the complete list was included in the package, two items were missing and one was not correct. Included in my order were Lava Sand, Green Sand, Trichogramma Wasps, Green Lacewings, Liquid Fish/Seaweed and 10% Vinegar.

The Trichogramma wasps were not in the package although it claimed they were. Also not included, although it claimed so, was the Vinegar. Although the shipment included a small package claiming that it had the lacewings, I could find none of them. I do realize that both the Lacewing and Wasps eggs are very small, but there was absolutely no sign of eggs at all. The package was crisp and clean. The package had claimed that there would be sawdust and Lacewings and to separate the two before putting them out.

I have e-mailed MG and will call them today but they have severely dissappointed me. Anyone who might have some power with them, please help me as I spent good money on these things.

Thanks in advance for your help. :( :( :(

Ok, I spoke to Marshall Grain yesterday and after denying that they had left out the ingredients and claiming that someone had broken into the package just to steal the vinegar and the wasps they finally conceded to send some more vinegar and wasps again.

I did detect a little nervousness when they called me back. They seemed to finally be admitting that they did, inadvertantly, not include these items with my shipment.

I am happy now.

Broken into the package? I'm glad you got things worked out, but it's unfortunately they weren't more helpful from the start.

I forgot to add, have you checked the vendor directory to see if there's anybody closer to where y'all are at?

I have checked but there are no local vendors that I can order from. TejasOrganics are supposed to start selling products soon but I cannot really tell from their website when.

E-Mail Tejas & let them know you need their services! They need any input you can give them to convince the retail stores in your area.

Often the wasp, etc, are paid for and then you send in info to order from growers--if that's what they're called.

That turned out to be the case with the lacewings and I kind of figured it out because there was a sealed package in the shipment that had a card to get them ordered, the lacewings that is.

But, there was absolutely no sign of any correspondence concerning the wasps.

I did, finally, receive both the vinegar and a small package containing 4, I don't know what you call them, tapes maybe, of wasps.

I am happy now.

By the way, I have been speaking with TejasOrganics in the past couple of days. Only one small problem, Tejas wants me to go into some sort of business deal. I have no desire to do that, just get some local vendors to start carrying their stuff. We'll see how it goes.

BTW, for biologicals you might also try these folks:

The shipping can be a bit on the expensive side for biologicals, but so far they have been very good. Fast, responsive, and the stuff is live and healthy. Some of the healthiest ladybugs I've ever seen! As soon as I opened the net bags they were humping each other all over the place! :D

i know this is an old post, but just thought i would commumicate:
a friend just reported to me yesterday that a place on 8th avenue in fort worth called Elizabeth Anna's gardens carries live biological controls (ladybugs, at least)

might be worth looking into?
i am still at the starting line with my whole garden experience, but will get around to adding biological controls soon enough!
