I recently found some Mustang Grapes out in our local woods and very near them was a citrus that I have yet to identify.

I am quite sure it is a citrus. It has fruits that are about 1.5 inches at the present time. The stems and trunk are streaked like a citrus, etc. It has a seed setup similar to a loquat with many seeds packed in it. Seeds larger than that of any citrus that I have ever seen. The fruit was slightly furry and I have never seen that on any citrus of the size that I saw.

But, here is the catch. At the age of the fruits that I saw/picked, I can usually identify if it is an orange, lemon, grapefruite, kumquat, loquat, etc. But, this one I could not identify. It has a very bitter smell with no hint whatsoever of any of the domestic citrus.

Can anyone identify this plant? It is pretty curious to me and I was thinking that it might be a hybrid of some mix that someone had discarded there.
