I have 4 different kinds of grapes growing in my garden including Concords and several others.

I recently found a huge pack of immensely fruiting Mustang Grapes on my friends property but they are too bitter to eat. I do realize that most grapes found in the supermarket are grapes that have been grafted on to a standard root stock so, therefore, the store grapes are not "pure" bred.

Anyone think that trying to hybridize these with my other grapes might work? Which one, the Mustang or the other types, do you think might pull toward the strongest taste? In other words, if I do hybridize them, do you think that they would lean towards the bitter Mustang Grape side or do you think that they might be a little sweeter leaning toward the cultivated grape side?

Just wondering.
