I guess most of us are under water restrictions...our yard now looks better than it did in the spring! I think we have learned to deeply water-finally. Don't know what happened earlier but nearly all the St Aug. died. I was following a lot of 'threads' here about the same problem so maybe it was b/c of GOOD no rain since spring '04! I worry most about the trees on our acreage-they all look so wilted! I guess they have survived droughts b/4...

It makes me want to move to Seattle. Along with the drought, we get higher than normal temps too. I tell people all the time there are two reasons I live in Texas. Hubby and air conditioning. If Hubby knows what's good for him he won't ever miss an electric bill no matter how high it goes!
I LIVE for Texas winters. About 40 degrees is heaven to me! Last winter we didn't see the rain either. It makes me down right petrified to think about feeding my horses. I'll go broke right before all the hay runs out and my horses starve. Can you see me walking the highways around here with a horse to find rogue blades of grass? |

And whenever it does rain, the media and other folks start talking as though we are going die  . I find that kind of enjoyable watch.

Yeah, and after 5 months of oppressive heat, the first week we have 62 for the high, they'll be telling us that 'Relief is on the way though, next week highs in he 80s'
Idiots. The 60's weather IS the releif. |
