I loaned my "Plants of the Metroplex" book and never got it back. Can someone tell me the name of the ornamental tree pictured in the book that has blood red bark?

On page 26 there is a Japanese Maple, below it is 6 different trees. One of them is "Coral Bark" in winter. The bark is a deep red, and looks pretty interesting.

This is the only tree that I found in the book that has red bark.

Hope this helps!

I had to check mine to be sure, and yeah the only one I saw with strictly red bark was the Coral Bark Japanese Maple.

Gorgeous tree. Lime green leaves that turn golden in fall, and that unusual bark color is a great contrast.
