| I have some weeds in my yard that are low growing, single rooted, woody feeling weeds that really hurt to step on. They occassionally produce a small purple flower. I have pictures of them but have no idea how to post them on here. Any ideas what this may be? |

There are a number of common names for it, roadside aster, Texas aster, annual aster, etc. I believe there is a thread on this forum that has more info.

| That is definately it and after reading the articles on it I think I am in a world of hurt. I have an acre lot that I am trying to get rid of it on and I have spent about an hour a day pulling these weeds. Of course with the dry weather it is like pulling rebar out of concrete. I don't think I have made a dent yet. Is there any quick way of getting rid of these besides pulling? If I can get ahead of these maybe they will be easier to control next year. |

I've asked Howard to put this plant on the home page, probably in the "plant of the week" section. Keep checking, he said he would do it.
