I have a crepe myrtle that was planted a year ago. It is not doing very well. It has not flowered this year and its leaves are yellow-green. The bark and stem parts of it looks kinda black. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? I have put down a little cornmeal already.

Thanks

1st, make sure it's not too deep in the ground. (do I sound like HG?!) It needs to have a good root flare. Then maybe I'd suspect the drought-I blame that for everything. Does it get a lot of sun? Did you fertilize w/organic fertilizer? Have you tried Garrett Juice? Both as a drench & foliar spray. Do you see any bugs?
