Hi folks. When is the best time to apply beneficial nematodes to your lawn? I've never used them before.

Anytime that the soil is moist & kept from totally drying out is OK. When it is freezing outside is not a good time. They need some moisture in the soil to live. This does not mean to over-water your lawn or garden to keep them alive! Before, during or after a rain is great!

Since they are used to kill insects, the best time is when the other insects are in the soil. You can use them in late winter to take care of fleas, ticks, and thrips, and you can use them in May to take care of June bug or Japanese beetle larvae.
