|
|
Our church has a Pumpkin Patch this year and the up & down temps & rain have caused some of them to rot prematurely. Being environmentally conscious, our fearless volunteer leaders asked me to let all organic gardeners & composters in the Dallas area know that the rotten pumpkins are available for anyone who wants to come and pick them up to add them to their compost pile. Free for the taking, you provide the transportation & labor. They're not gross yet, just getting too soft to sell.
I have used my pumpkins in my compost for years and they make great additions! Come and get yours at:
Walnut Hill United Methodist Church
10066 Marsh Lane
Dallas, TX 75229
www.whumc.com
Phone: 214-357-5656
The church is located just north of the intersection of Walnut Hill Lane and Marsh Lane in northwest Dallas. The volunteers are there from 9 to 7 Saturday and 9 to 4 pm Sunday, plus weekdays until 7:00 p.m. Google it for a map if needed.
If you'd like to help out, the church is selling a new crop of pumpkins, so pick one up while you're there! Profit goes to all kinds of missions, most of them local.
Peace out ya'll!

Pumpkin pies! Yum! :)
Maybe you or your church could do a pumpkin pie sales, or is it too late?

Yeah, I suggested that...but got a lot of frowns from the tired moms who aren't real crazy about baking a bunch of pies. Oh well, it was a good thought. I got some for me!
