My boss has oodles of oak trees in her yard, and the falling acrons are driving her crazy. But her real problem is this: what should she do with the fallen acorns? Of course she doesn't want any more trees. She has raked up what was there and offered them to me for my compost pile. Should I take them and put them in my compost pile? will little trees crop up in that pile? What should be done with them?

The acorns are great for compost. If you could shred them with a chipper or a lawn mower, they will compost better. Some people dump them in the driveway & run the car back & forth until crushed. If you dump them in a compost whole some could sprout. Keeping pile hot & turned will take care of that problem.

Thanks for your prompt reply! Ok, I'll throw those puppies into my compost pile. I don't have a chipper and of course I'm too lazy to do either of the other 2 suggestions, so I'll just keep my compost pile hot & turned and let the heat & bugs take care of those acorns.

Thanks again for your suggestion.
