Help

I have lived on Lake Texoma at the tip of Preston Peninsula for 10 years. There are Oak Trees and acorns galore, very fat squirels. This year, NO ACORNS, was it the drought (about 2 months) or could it be just an off year. Don't know what kind of Oak, but there are several. Also, the Wallnut and Pecon trees have no fruit either. Help

I noticed a lot of trees with little or none this year. I'm going to guess drought coupled with extended periods of high heat.

This info came from one of our certified arborists:

Generally, when stress levels are high on acorn bearing trees the tree will respond with an over abundance of acorns due to the fact that the tree feels the stress and is trying to ensure offspring and the next generation. I feel that there must be something else going on based on this knowledge. Moisture and heat stress can however cause unusual responses by trees, so I am not saying that this could not be the problem.
