On a bit of a whim I bought an Alberta Spruce at a box store this weekend. It is supposed to grow to about 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide in a pyramidal shape (3.7mX3m more or less). It is about 2 feet tall right now and will serve as our Christmas tree this year.
Once done with that duty, will this tree grow here in the DFW area? It will never be a great shade tree but I am thinking that it would be a nice shape to break up some fence lines or house corner lines.

| Not familiar with this one. What's the zone listing for this tree? Does it list any particular needs on in the care instructions? |

I found some information via search engine. Looks like it will grow in z 2-7 or 3-8 and depending on the source will grow from 6-12 feet high. Also depending in the source if may do okay in this clay and it may not.
