Hi! I'm a newbie here & this is my first post.

Down here in Corpus Christi we have performed organic/sustainable landscape maintenance for over thirty years. In this field, much time is spent in educating myself so that I can help educate ny customers. The internet sure has made it easier than it used to be.
As a long time subscriber to "Acres USA" <acresusa.com>, I have been familiar with HG's advice. So this weekend I sought out the Dirt Doctor again, and joined. This has become a really impressive site.

More & more, I am interested in solving girdler root problems and have "rescued" many trees and shrubs. Have learned that many have been caused by container grown stock. I am glad to see that there are more nurseries such as Athens Tree Farm <http://athenstreefarm.com/> that are working to solve this problem.

But to the point of helping trees in place, this has been a slow & tedious operation. The "Air-Spade" seems a great improvement but it may be too expensive for my situation. I have found and learned much by rummaging/surfing here. For instance, the use of a wet/dry vac had never occurred to me.

But I still have, and will have, more questions. Can y'all offer some insights?

Take care.
Craig

The two secomd best techniques are medium water flow and shop vac or the use of stiff brushes.
