Hello all,

I have been organic for about a year and a half now. I found these worms below my gutter submerged in water. Any idea of what they are? Most of them are only an inch or so long, but some are longer. They appear to have a clitellum like a mature earth worm, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for your help,

Dom

These tiny white worms look like pot-worms. From what I understand, they are beneficial, like earthworms, transporting beneficial fungi from place to place, etc. As you probably already figured, they like moist conditions.

Thanks Nadine. I looked up potworms and their description leads me to believe you are right. I washed them out so maybe they will do my yard some good now.

Thanks again,

Dom

You really shouldn't keep your yard that moist, unless you have a bog. No problem, they will become food for other beneficial organisms if they do not survive. 8)

My yard is not usually wet. The worms were in the concrete "catch" underneath a gutter downspout. There was water in it from a recent rain.

Thanks again,

Dom
