Hi Ya!
My husband and I bought this house 2 years ago and are beginning to wonder what all these shrubs and tree are around our house.
Does anyone know of a good web site we could visit to see pictures and descriptions of plants so we can identify them?
Thanks! :D

Emily,
You can look up native stuff at http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/ornamentals/nativeshrubs/ and http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/ornamentals/natives/tamuhort.html

Also, http://floridata.com has lots of good pics and info on plants. It's geared towards Florida, but it covers many plants found in this area.

Have you considered asking your neighbors or your mailman? That's how I found out. Of course, after 2 years, they may wonder what took you so long...

There is always one in the crowd... Bill!

Thanks for the links kBrew! That is exactly what I am looking for. It is hard when you don't even know what the common name is of some obscure plant growing next to the house.

Would it help to take a leaf off your plant(s), go to a nearby nursery and try to ID the plant? That's probably what I would do.

The best way to ID them is to take some photos and post them on this forum. Someone here will be able to tell you what they are. Use snapfish.com or something like that to upload the pics.
